Who Are We?

A non-political, non-profit making and independent, charitable organisation. We are managed by a dynamic team accountable to the governance of an international Board of Trustees and have been successfully operating since 1994.
What Do We Do?
Europe Trust aims to establish a portfolio of assets (known as awaqf), businesses and investments to generate resources to fund social and economic projects for communities in Europe. Our remit ranges:

What Is ‘Waqf?’

In Arabic, waqf means “locked dedication” and refers to a permanent gift made to fulfil charitable objectives. The gifted asset cannot be disposed of (hence locked) but its yield and proceeds are used for charitable purposes and according to the wishes of the person, the waqif making the waqf.
